On behalf of MSU Community Music School, we support the recommendation that Paula is making to further investigate the pedestrian safety at this particular crosswalk. MSU CMS serves many members of the MSU community (students, faculty, graduate students, etc.) and families living on or near campus that visit our location either by walking or by riding their bikes. In support of MSU's green initiatives, we have ample sidewalks and bike racks that encourage our students or visitors to choose this mode of transportation. However, the vehicle traffic on Hagadorn is highly congested throughout the day and traveling at a high rate of speed, posing safety concerns for pedestrians to cross from campus over both lanes of traffic to CMS. We would greatly appreciate any consideration that can be made to provide additional safety measures for pedestrians in this area. Thank you for your time.

I have biked to the music school with my daughter on a number of occasions and also found it very difficult to cross safely at this cross walk. The video Paula made illustrates this very nicely. Traffic volume on Hagadorn is always high, and speeds are fast. You have to play chicken to get across.

This intersection is actually worse now than ever because Hagadorn is a detour route, taking on extra traffic for a time being while a road in Okemos is under repair.

This has now become an ever more urgent need since the pedestrian bridge at the Red Cedar is now out for repairs. People are being forced to cross over Hagadorn Rd. to the east side in order to go to all points north of the river. There's also now the new MSU-Lk. Lansing Pathway that's moving forward which will terminate at this intersection which is going to result in many times more people on bikes and walking needing to cross at this spot back and forth to campus.

That is another reasonable cause to chose studying at home.
