The police can and should park wherever they want. How do you know they’re not on a call? Even if they’re not I can’t imagine in this weather you can begrudge them for getting food or coffee because guess what, if you need them I don’t think you’ll complain about where they park. And they’ll be there for you in minutes. Seriously, complain about something worthwhile
Two things to remember, 1. The officer may have been on an emergency call or service call 2. Our officers need to be able to leave in a moment’s notice throughout their shift. On a side note, the officers have a set amount for meal break and many times, may eat in their cars due to call volume.
As you know, parking in Summit is sometimes tough, so why would you want a police car to take a parking spot when a visitor or resident patron could use it and supplement our downtown.
