Blight Acknowledged10 Elton St Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseEmpty city lot in the former location of 10 and 12 Elton St.
Also previously known as a the Elton St. Community Garden.
Removal of a large tree branch that has been laying there since the summer storms in 2023. The city lawn cutters do not seem to know how to pick it up and put in a city truck to remove, they would rather waste time circling around it.
The signage that was put in place for the Community Garden has been broken and either laying on the ground or against a tree should either be removed - or reinstalled.
IF it is reinstalled then the city - and the police department will have to inform the Bar at the corner of Elton and W. Jefferson and Hall across Elton St. that THIS IS NOT A PARKING LOT - AND INFORCE IT!!!
As this park is regularly used by both for parking (that is how the sign was knocked down in the first place - they just drove over it)
Also - just this past week - a sofa has been deposited on the same property. -
Debris Removal Acknowledged90-92 Southfield Rd Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseSouthfield Railroad Overpasses -
Specifically the east side - Regardless if this is the rail lines property or not - the drivers that goes past this does not know that - or care. They just see an overhanging jungle of vegetation on both sides of Southfield Rd.
Also creates a dangerous area where anyone can hide, or an unsafe surface for walkers and for bicyclists to ride under or through the branches. -
Streets - Street Light/Sign Repairs AcknowledgedW Jefferson Ave & Salliotte Rd Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseTrees and light poles along W. Jefferson -
All the trees along West Jefferson should be cut up/back to allow the nice newly installed lamps to work as intended - provide light.
Several are either now blocked by brush/branches or will be in the near future as the trees grow.
see photo - there is a short black lamp pole just to the right of the tall pole the traffic light is attached to - but you cannot see it!! -
Debris Removal Acknowledged26819 W Outer Dr Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseDora Gaines Park
Cut and remove overgrowth of weeds and shrubs along the fence lines of the park.
Brush growing up and thru the fence makes the whole park look trashy - and after putting nice new equipment there - we should be proud of it! -
Debris Removal Acknowledged50-58 Labadie St Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseHigh St. and Labadie - Old School 3 location.
Remove debris and cut the brush inside the fenced area. Also cut and remove the brush and tree branches growing over and along the fence lines.
The SIDEWALK along High street is supposed to be wide enough for 2 persons to walk on - not overgrown with grass and dirt. -
Blocked Catch Basin AcknowledgedCity Of Ecorse Michigan - EcorseStreet storm drain covers - many throughout the city are blocked (some completely) with a matting of leaves, grass, dirt and debris. Some locations the residents have moved the debris over - but the first rainstorm it's going to be right back in the drain - flooding the street or curb.
A large part of the problem is the residents/lawn contractors/and especially the city workers cutting the lawn and leaving the cuttings in the street. -
Streets - Street Light/Sign Repairs AcknowledgedCity Of Ecorse Michigan - EcorseRepair and/or replace if missing, any Street Signs, and Directional or safety related signs.
Throughout the city there are numerous missing street signs as well as missing (or falling off - just waiting for someone to take) one-way signs, stop signs, no-truck signs, etc., etc. (Josephine and Jefferson, Goddell and Jefferson, Elton and High st., etc.... -

3965 W Jefferson Ave Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseThe Ecorse Online Bill Pay will not accept my bank account to pay my water and tax bill. However, Wayne County Treasurer’s online bill pay does accept it. I couldn’t pay my taxes on time, because Ecorse’s bill pay wouldn’t accept my online payment. It’s not fair to have to wait for my taxes to be delinquent, and have to pay extra money in late fees, just to be able to pay my taxes online or have to pay the 3% fee for using a credit card. Can someone please fix this? It’s very hard for me to get to city hall before 5pm, and I should be able to use my online bank account to pay my bills in Ecorse, just as I use it to pay other bills. Your website is the only place that will not accept my bank account and it send me an error message.

Stop Sign Falling Over AcknowledgedAlexander Ct & E Goodell St Ecorse, MI, 48229, USA - EcorseThe stop sign / street sign, on the corner of Alexander Ct and E. Goodell St, is falling over and needs to be fixed. There is also a cut off piece of metal sticking 1” above the grass line, next to it. This used to be the old stop sign, before it was replaced - the city just cut it out, and left the metal sticking out of the ground. A few years ago, my daughter cut her foot on this piece of metal and required several stiches in her foot. While repairing the new stop sign, please take the metal from the old stop sign out. Thank you!
