A pedestrian crosswalk is urgently needed at this intersection, now that there is a bus stop and shelter located here. There is currently no safe place for people to cross this busy intersection.

A patch of poison ivy is growing near the sidewalk and is getting bigger by the day. This poses a hazard to the many residents who walk and bike on this sidewalk every day.
  • Raleigh Blvd And Barksdale Rd Raleigh, NC - East Raleigh

Clearer signs and/or pavement markings are needed at the intersection of Raleigh Blvd and Barksdale Dr. There are two distinct left turn lane opportunities on northbound Raleigh Blvd that are very close to one another. One is for turning left (westbound) to Barksdale, and the next is for turning left (west) on Crabtree. Frequently, a driver headed north on Raleigh Blvd gets into the left turn lane before Barksdale and continues straight through the Raleigh/Barksdale intersection, assuming that it is the turn lane for Crabtree. If drivers make this assumption, they run the risk of a head-on collision, because they will drive right through the southbound left turn lane onto Barksdale Dr. On Saturday, a driver nearly hit me head-on as I was waiting to turn left (east) on Barksdale. Fortunately, this driver was able to swerve just in time, but in doing so almost hit the another car in the next lane. It was very scary because there was no way I could have avoided getting hit by this oncoming car if they had not been able to get over.

Perhaps updated pavement markings and/or a concrete median would help drivers realize that they cannot get into the left turn lane for Crabtree early. Thanks for taking a look at this!

  • 2100 Raleigh Blvd Raleigh, NC - East Raleigh
Four orange trash bags have been sitting near the entrance to the greenway on the east side of Raleigh Blvd for a few days. In addition, plant overgrowth is beginning to crowd the sidewalk just south of the greenway entrance down to Barksdale. It would be helpful if the vines could be cut back so that the sidewalk is clear.

  • 1312 Marlborough Rd Raleigh, NC - East Raleigh
The house at 1312 Marlborough Rd has been reported a couple of times. It continues to fall apart with two doors open. The most recent response mentioned that the case was scheduled for City Council action on 5/1/12 for a request to demolish. What is the status of this request? Thanks for your help.
  • Sunnybrook Rd Raleigh, NC - East Raleigh
Yesterday I noticed that a straight-ahead arrow was spraypainted on a left-turn-only lane on the southbound side of Sunnybrook at New Bern Avenue (next to WakeMed). I don't know how that lane could possibly accommodate straight-ahead traffic because the lane disappears after you cross New Bern. This could cause confusion, and possibly an accident at a very busy intersection.

This house was damaged in the April 2011 tornado. It has not been repaired, and its condition gets worse every day. The sliding glass doors on the side of the house are open, and the roof has fallen through on one half of the house. It does not appear that any attempts have been made to repair this house. How can we encourage the owner to fix this?
