The speed limit here is 25 for a residential street. Yet the normal speed limit you will see a car here going is between 40-50 mph, even on this short stretch of road. Residents on this street are nervous to even let their children play out front because the amount of speeding traffic and people whom are texting while driving. Children have almost been hit with some very near misses and this has become a very genuine safety concern. People are racing up and down the street and have literally turned into a drag strip. You will often find tire marks left from burnouts on the street or the intersection between West Gary Gately and 52nd street. vehicles are passing very aggressively to the point where residents are not able to pull in and out of driveways. The neighborhood has amassed Photos and videos of all of this. It's getting to the point where there are becoming conflicts between home owners whom are sick of it and the inconsiderate people committing the offense. Some residents have installed rocks / Barriers to try and keep out of control vehicles (vehicles losing control and jumping curbs leaving the roadway) from hitting their homes as this has almost happened a few times as well.

We have school children walking to and from busses, and lots of foot traffic from the neighborhood behind us and newly built apartments walking pets and what not and this has become a vast safety concern for all.

West Gary Gately has become a very highly traveled street as it is now the access point to 3 different neighborhood subdivisions. Due to whatever reason there is close to none as far as police presence on this street as well which I understand due to budget issues and the far out location as well with it being a newer neighborhood and lack of knowledge to the issues it faces.

In the past neighbors have contacted about this issue, we had way less traffic then and still had a study done where they put out the thing that monitors traffic speeds but they placed it at the chokepoint where you can't speed and faced it towards Nw48th completely avoiding the problem area. Nearby construction has also fueled increased traffic down West Gary Gately.

Cannot Pinpoint and exact day or time as this is a continuing issue at all times daily. It is very rare for a single vehicle to even go the speed limit down this street. But its Probably worse during work/school morning commutes 6-9am and when people get off around 3:30-5pm

All of the residents on this street have become fed up and extremely desperate for some aid with this issue. We are willing to work with whatever department is necessary and meet with whom ever we need to so that we can get this issue addressed and come up with a reasonable solution.
The HOA in the area has discussed:
*Closure of the connection on 52nd street (between West Gary Gately and W Partridge Ln.
*Speed Bumps
*More Police presence / Traffic enforcement and Radar.
*Open to working out possible solutions

With the amount of Accidents and Near accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles as well with the amount of foot traffic in the area, we just want everyone to be safe.

Pothole in this area, cars are coming into oncoming traffic, cresting a hill, to avoid this pothle.

Kids are trying to get to the pool, they use the crosswalk, but the flashing lights are ignored by motorists, and they fly through putting kids lives at risk. please bring back the actual stop light! the flashing lights are difficult to see, and easy to miss. dont wait for a child to get killed.

More like a sink hole but don't know where else it can get noticed by reporting it. We have to pretty much cross the center line to avoid this. My car is now not steering correctly due to hitting this. Someone is going to have a head on or roll because of this.

I know that I have written before about this intersection but something needs to be evaluated again. There was another accident this morning. There is too much traffic and someone will be hurt if something is not done.

This pothole is going on 2 months of reporting. Approx 4-6” deep and nearly 2’ across, it is causing drivers to cross into other lane to avoid harsh roadway drop-off and vehicle damage.

This is a new developing area in Airpark with the new apartments, more houses being built, and the new High School that is going to open soon. Waiting at this stop sign to turn left takes about 10 minutes. There has been many accidents because of this and people making last minute decisions. For example, people are pulling out of the left lane and moving to the right lane to later make an illegal U-turn because they do not want to wait 10 minutes to take a left to get on the Main Street. The High School (Northwest high school) isn't even opened yet and the traffic at the corner is already so bad and it gets backed up. This road is also used for kids to get to Arnold Elementary School. It will only get worse when the High School opens because cars won't be able to get on the main road. Please put a light at this intersection so people don't have to wait 10 minutes to get on the Main Street and to prevent car accidents.

I maybe should have called Non-Emergency today but hope this works also. Need to report teenagers lighting off fireworks in the tunnel of the playground equipment at the Ashley Height Park. The tunnel is now marked up and burnt some from the fireworks.

I'll keep posting it until someone looks at it. I think it was caused by a water or sewage line settling after Allo drilled through the neighborhood. I have a low spot from my house through the yard to the manhole and out to this spot in the street.

I wanted to submit for your consideration that the timing for this light is too short for traffic on waiting to turn from W. Huntington onto NW 48th street. The triggering for the light is very lengthy (upwards of 5 minutes) during non-rush hours. This causes many vehicles to build up at this intersection only to have a small window (six seconds) to make it through. This is particularly hazardous in winter conditions where traffic moves more slowly.

While the light functions correctly, it would be more conducive to E-W traffic flow have this light's changing cycle extended to a window of 10-15 seconds or to make triggering mechanism more sensitive during non-peak hours.
