I had some growing into my yard from an adjacent vacant property (which is als littered with trash, 4 foot high weeds, furniture and rats). I hopped the fence in the winter when the poison ivy was dormant and cut it down. The county does nothing to address concerns of it's taxpaying citizens INSIDE the beltway. We have to band together and take matters into our own hands. I've tried for 4 years to get something done about the mosquito problem in my Capitol Heights neighborhood. we are bitten well over 100 times within 5 minutes of being in our backyard, yet when I've visited friends near Watkins Regional Park (near woods and water) not a single bite.

That's horrible!

This poison ivy is still growing in public space even after it was reported to the city police's code enforcement division weeks ago.

Also, I definitely agree that the mosquitos are quite bad in Capitol Heights. They must spray in other parts of the county. Are there any existing Capitol Heights/ PG inside the beltway citizen listservs or social groups where we can start working together to get some of these and other problems fixed?

There is a stop sign missing at 30th avenue and Nicholson Street, in Hyattsville, Maryland. Probably down from high winds in 2014. There is a real need for the stop sign to be replaced.
