What you are seeing is the very first segment of Phase 1 of the Webb Bridge Corridor Improvement Project. The entirety of Phase 1 stretches from Big Creek eastward to the intersection with Webb Bridge Way and includes the construction of a roundabout at that intersection. The general cross-section or profile of the roadway upon completion can be seen in the attached image.

As noted in the illustration, the roadway will feature curbs and gutters, which is what you are referencing in your comment. The curb is currently higher than it will be upon completion of the roadway because it is designed to accommodate the layers of asphalt that will be applied when the road is repaved. When that occurs, the curb will be at standard height.

I’m not sure this is related to the project referenced. There’s not a spec of activity along any other portion of Webb Bridge. The new sidewalk and curbing seems directly related to connecting the Westwind subdivision to the greenway. Seems like narrowing the road in this area is hazardous.

I was on Webb Bridge behind a biker coming up to the section that has been narrowed quite a bit leaving no room to "share the road". As you can see in the photo there is no place left on the road to water run off or a bike lane.

Thanks for your comments. On this segment of Webb Bridge Road, a bike ramp is designed and provided for bikers to transition from the roadway to the multi use sidewalk. The ramp is right next to the biker on the picture. To this end, appropriate signage and pavement markings will be provided as soon as the roadway construction is complete.

As lots of people pointed out this part is quite dangerous now for anyone who uses the road. The sidewalk has not been built so that the biker would have been able to use that and the road has become much more narrow with the curb suddenly coming out like that. When will the construction be finished so that the safety issue will not be there anymore? If it takes a long time why was this made a priority without the other parts having been finished to keep the road safe?

The project is anticipated to substantially complete by end of the year 2021. There are multiple components involved in this type of roadway projects that are interconnected. The curb installation along with the grading, etc are some of the very first stages before completing the multi-use sidewalk construction. The new pavement and striping (pavement markings) on Webb Bridge Road, within the project limit, are scheduled to be completed in next three weeks, weather permitting.
