Description

Lots of people have been complaining. Not sure what days it goes on if it is every week day but it seems to be most days I get on South Blvd when I go home from work. Some days I go other ways just to not have to encounter it.
Traveled this area the last 15 years around 4-5pm and has always been a decent thoroughfare. The past few weeks Cargill have decided to have tractor trailers exit and enter their premises around 4.30pm onwards. They block the lanes in both ways as they just pull out into South Blvd and sit whilst they try and turn either to head towards town or the other direction. When 18 wheelers do this you need at least 3-4 lanes of road and Sth Blvd is 2 lanes each way so this gets hairy. This causes massive back ups in both directions but mainly the direction heading away from town with all us going home people. People are getting impatient and aggressive and try cut back into the neighborhoods as they do u turns or cut thru business parking lots to get out of the madness. The congestion this causes is ridiculous. Coming to you as after the fiasco that was last night, when a truck blocked us all for over 5 minutes then another one tried to pull out in front of me as I was passing the Cargill entrance they exit out of. Myself and the drivers behind me just zoomed on by and I said I am not going to stop for a truck trying to just bully his way onto South Blvd after spending almost 10 minutes stopped already. They need to do this after rush hours and they would find this safer for us motorists and most importantly for them o their truck drivers as they would be able to exit and enter Cargill without hundreds of vehicles trying to get home. There are restrictions uptown Charlotte that tractor trailers cannot be in town the hours people go to and from work and the same needs to be applied here. Safety first......
