Description
It's about time dog regulations are strictly enforced, and dog owners who are in violation pay dearly, so they will not do it again.
See attached image, taken this afternoon on the beautiful east side promenade - full of dog poop.
Totally unacceptable. What is RIOC doing?
How about Public Safety who regularly patrol this promenade in their vehicles?

About 3 months ago, RIOC also acknowledged another post and comments regarding dog waste in Roosevelt Island and the lack of dog waste bag dispensers, as well as bags to dispose dog waste. RIOC not only acknowledged the problem, but also posted that the bag dispensers were already being placed around the island for the convenience of dog walkers. During these 3 months I have gone around the island several times to verify whether these dog waste dispensers have actually be installed in convenient places. So far, I have only found 2 of them: one in the plaza near the subway and the other behind Island House, and neither one of the 2 had available plastic bags.
It's OK that RIOC acknowledges and states that they are solving the problem, but not when they don't actually solve the problem. RIOC should keep its word and immediately install these bag dispensers (with supplies of bags) for the dog owners who may have forgotten or did not have bags to pick up the waste.

The solution is the DNA test kit , which should be mandated on RI, and paid for by each individual dog lover (it is a modest and reasonable one time fee, about $40)
So once the dog population on RI is DNA-ed and information gathered in a database, I am sure dog poop will disappear from RI, as it happened on all other places where this solution was implemented.
