Description

Again, thaks for this opportunity to relay this issue. At this intersection, pedestrians heading east across Buskirk are at high risk of collision with vehicles turning from eastbound Treat to northbound Buskirk. Cars frequently enter the intersection when the light is yellow (or red) and cannot clear the ped lane before the ped light turns green. Pedestrians who might not be looking over their shoulder for cars coming from behind risk getting hit. Perhaps adding more lag time between the red light (for the left turn lane onto Buskirk) and the green light for vehicles and pedestrians crossing over Buskirk might help?

Also, the right turn lane for cars going from westbound Treat to Buskirk does not have its own light, and I've had drivers cut right in front of me (one in a cement truck pointing to the red pedestrian light, even though that light isn't for that lane). So here is a different problem. Maybe better signage that indicates to drivers that pedestrians ALWAYS have the right-of-way on this lane might help?
