This whole intersection has been jacked for ages. There also needs to be an extended right turn lane from Cary Pkwy onto Kildaire, as traffic backs up trying to make this turn, blocking further. I know for a while the medical complex there at the corner had signs saying not to use them as a cut through as so many folks were due to the congestion.

Since this issue is still open, I'm guessing our traffic people have other projects in their queue/can't spare the human capital to evaluate the intersection and formulate new timing algorithms -- or they've decided they don't need to do anything. If it's the latter, they at least owe us an update and the reason for doing nothing. If enough of us complain loudly enough about this AWFUL intersection, though, the city will have no choice but to come up with a real solution.

Is anything being done about this?

The traffic signal crew are aware and have turned it over to the traffic engineering department for review and follow up. The crew said they will go out and investigate the light again.
