Whats taking so long to get this picked up.Come on Vallejo. This is a nice clean quiet neighborhood this should not be happening or taking so long to get it cleaned up
And yes, it shouldn't be happening anywhere!! But this is not a normal dumping site. Like some of the other neighborhoods are. As a homeowner I pay my property taxes and County taxes and all the above. And I expected this matter should've been handled. Its been a week.
Monica, no area is more entitled to any expedited City resources or services over another. If it is unusual for your area consider yourself lucky. Many ppl in Vallejo have been waiting over a month
Not intended to imply that this shouldn’t be picked up within a reasonable time period... But if you follow these SCF postings you will see that the illegal dumping occurs more frequently than the CoV can respond. They are overwhelmed with ppl illegally dumping their trash. They’re doing their best to keep Vallejo clean.
Monica, I would expect more in a neighborhood that shows it cares by showing better maintenance, less weeds etc. vs a dumpy neighborhood where people have weeds, park on the front yard leave their trash cans in view etc.. The city should treat all equally, but some neighborhoods are a mess beyond the city's fault and you expect it there more as is usually the case. Basically common sense you shouldn't have to explain.
No respectable city would respond to neighborhoods where residents have the audacity to leave their trash cans in view 😂😂😂😂😂 That’s definitely a major violation 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really don't expect someone whom accepts low standards of living and low standards of what it takes to respect your neighbors and neighborhood to get the gist of what I am saying. It has nothing to do with the size of the issue. I would think earning respect not demanding respect is common sense. Nice neighborhoods have certainly earned more respect.
It must be a miserable existence when you want so badly to be superior to others and to have some "elite status", but you don't. 😢Too bad that in reality the only thing you're able to run is your mouth. Heres an idea...Maybe you could try out for the VPD...Assuming you havent already but were rejected.

Explaining reality and what should be common sense doesn't make an elitist. Just more knowledgeable in this subject matter. Thinking elsewise just reiterates how some people don't get it. Should be simple, but not apparently to some.
Unfortunately half of code enforcement’s job is to go inspect peoples houses that don’t take their trash cans off the sidewalk, don’t mow their lawn, have a inoperative vehicle in the driveway etc. some of these are valid issues, like when it’s just high weeds in front of your house. But not mowing your lawn this week? Some of these issues seem like they’re just picking nits, but everyone is entitled to the same service in this town, from small problems too large, first come first serve...
Artsem, Not really. Trying to open a narrow judgmental mind that is closed tight usually doesn't abode well. Not sure why I try when I know it doesn't get anywhere.
Everyone deserves the same service even though the nicer ones pay more taxes and use less taxes. The nicer the neighborhood the more they nit pick on rules etc. which is understandable as this is most of why they haver a nicer neighborhood. The less kept neighborhoods are lucky if you even have an unmowed lawn and got your trash actually in the can. You just don't expect blatant littering in a nicer neighborhood as it is more of a rarity unlike bad neighborhoods where it is more common place. That last sentence is all that Monica was implying , but got wrongfully needlessly negatively judged on that simple fact and here we are discussing this.
Just one question.... has anyone at least cleared the street and left a pathway for pedestrians? Hope they aren't waiting until the overloaded public servants can find time in their schedule.
Neighbors should email the City Manager at city.manager@cityofvallejo.net complaining about this situation. The longer this persists, the greater the risk of more homeless moving in. This is not good for our neighborhood.
L.A., assuming that this issue is in a "nicer neighborhood" and you imply that it contributes more and uses less City resources? What makes you think that? Just using "Temple" in the search bar produced issues on that street or adjacent intersections.

DESCRIPTION
Approximate Time of occurrence between 0300-0600 hours on today’s date October 7, 2018. Unknown suspects originally dumped large sofa’s, TV console and other debris in the middle of the street in front of the above address mentioned. Cross street is Temple Way at Masonic. Another neighbor safely moved furniture and other debris off the roadway and arranged it on the sidewalk.
In addition, the "nicer" neighborhoods want additional landscaping along subdivision entrances, pretty crosswalks, street lighting, parks and playgrounds. So yes, they pay extra for that, but did they not elect to do so by additional assessments or a CCRC?
Lullaby door has no clue of what he's talking about. I was a project planner for the city of San Francisco so I know the "nicer" neighborhoods use more funds.(i.e., parklettes, custom railings, LED light fixtures, medians with Landscaping, Gardens memorializing deceased residents, new paving, Etc)
Thanks for reporting! Our staff responsible for removing, sorting, and dumping all illegal dumping in Vallejo has picked up the illegal dumping reported at this location.
