Hate speech? I'm not seeing it. It's descriptive. What people report it to the One Point of Contact on PDXReporter.org, it shows a dot on their map but they don't post descriptions. I think descriptions are great since they add who(gutter punks), what(liquor law violation) , when(late at night), why(likely because of alcohol availability and bottle return at Plaid Pantry) to the where information.

Something needs to be done about this spot. Police were dispatched eight times to this block range this month one of which was for robbery with weapon. Graffiti constantly popping up on building indicating gang activity and syringe caps on Plaid's property once in a while.

The worst is when they block the entire sidewalk (or bike trail) and their pit bulls bark or lunge at people. They always seem to have bloody pit bulls. You can end up trusting your life to some greasy dreg holding a leash.

Calling critiques of these people "hate speech" is foolishly naive. Some of them are schizophrenics or ex-cons who can snap unexpectedly. There's at least one bum downtown who walks around with a baseball bat. He might tell you it's for his own protection, but how can we know?

hey Walkenton, it's worth mentioning that although this Plaid Pantry is consistently worse than any other Plaid in the general area, the other Plaid Pantry actually have people living right above it. People above were so infuriated by disorderly conduct and noise from gutter punks right below their windows and helpless with inability to stop the disruptive conduct that they actually went to City Council over it. here's proof: https://efiles.portlandoregon.gov/Record/12776964/

PVTs, that's my kind of document! Noise needs to be taken more seriously as a societal scourge. Behind all the P.C. news items, sympathy for yellers and litterers is running short in this town.

How do you discern a PutterGunk(tm) from just a regular homeless person? There must be hybrid forms.

The first type generally congregate in numbers, often commits violations such as public drinking and marijuana use. It's quite easy to separate the two apart when you see them. Take a visit there.

Turns out this Plaid is the only address that is actually given the 13xx address on 11th Avenue, so all calls labeled 1300 block SW 11th are probably Plaid Pantry drama.

Some of those gutter punk dames are rather shapely, though. Potentially smelly, but built!

Too bad OLCC hasn't required them to post security all the time.

In 2019, police responded for about 26 "priority" calls here, some including robbery, threats with weapon. Of those, 14 were for disturbances.

In addition to those, police were dispatched 35 times for Unwanted Persons (likely loitering)

Plaid Pantry is essentially the only address that is given the 13xx address on SW 11th, so almost all those requests are likely attributed to PP.

Many gutter punks dress in all black and claim they're "defending" themselves from the very people who essentially buy their food and house them. Their ungratefulness is perhaps the worst part.

If you ever see a gutter punk purchase Earthquake and other alcohol from that Plaid and consume it on the sidewalk, please take photos and send them to alcohol@oregon.gov so that Plaid can be held accountable. The most difficult thing has been to secure evidence of purchase.
