Some water fountains in our parks are not designed to be "frost free," meaning that they can more easily freeze in cold temperatures. For that reason these fountains are turned off and winterized until March of each year so as to allow the last cold snap to pass through the area.
The fountains will all be operational by this weekend, and any repairs needed (such as replacement of the pushbar on the fountain in the photograph) will be made by that time.
