Description
The previous landlord had advised LCI that he was scheduling a bulk trash pickup but the bank since has taken back the property. The many pieces of broken and discarded furniture that is piled in the rear yard (which is visible from my yard) has been out there since last spring, thru rain and snow and is now soggy and moldy. There are broken mirrors that also litter the side of the house. The front of the house has toters that are filled with garbage because the tenants do not take ALl the toters to the curb when trash is picked up> There is garbage and food waste that has spilled onto the ground that is not being picked up and the feral cats and other vermin are feasting ... I have seen possums, raccoons and rats. There is even a rotten, shrunken, discolored, pumpkin that has just been revealed when the snow melted. and there are several small children who live there and play outside ... around this debris!!!! Does the clean up of this property now fall under the Bank's responsibility? This matter needs to be attended to immediately, and I would like to be directed as to which agency to contact - Public Works, LCI, Public Health??? The condition of this property is in direct violation of City of New Haven Title V. Housing Code: Article III, Paragraph 303. Thank you.

I have taken it upon myself to pull the toters out to the curb when the residents of this address do not. They keep them in the front of the house adjacent to my driveway so if I were to leave them there full of garbage, the smell would keep me from being able to enter my car. However, the pile up of bulk trash in the rear and side of the property are not only an eyesore and home to local vermin and feral cats, but is a danger to the children who live there.
I believe that the property is now in foreclosure and owned by Bank of America. Can they be instructed to have this discarded furniture and debris removed or face citations? Please advise how this matter can be address.
