I spoke with the cop driving down Roydon Rd. He didn't know anything about the mayor's message, but was very clear we were in danger of being towed. He also said they had multiple crews and their coverage couldn't be guaranteed. The uncertainty is frustrating.

FYI, the car that he texted over had plates "861 YRB". It was a dark volvo with custom rims.
