Currently gof people and tennis pros roups come from outside the city to use our and they don't adhere to the pitiful signs directing them to turn over on the hour. The addition of pickleball use is also putting strain on access.
Today some CLRS tennis players couldn't practice because these large groups and pros just kept rotating in new people instead of turning over the courts.
Every other community around has online registration for tennis courts for residents only. Then these outside users have to wait for an open court and residents get first dibs, especially our students.
The tennis community has been asking for this amenity for quite a while now. n ourts

Raymond Park has plenty of room for many more trees which is listed as a goal to help the city replenish its tree canopy.
The existing trees are aging and most of the new trees planted over the past few years have died.
Please develop an aggressive plan for planting more trees here and put some protections around them so they thrive. u

Raymond Street park has off leash dog hours every morning from 6 am until 9.
Neighbors were told the park would get signage and education for dog owners on the rules for the off leash program, and that the conditions of the park would be monitored.
Currently there is only 1 unreadable sign while there are 4 entrances, and Animal Control has not been out to talk to dog owners in many years. Theres constantly piles of dog poop and holes left by the dogs which isn't fair for the many kids who play soccer here.

Water drainage has been a huge issue in this park for far too many years. These fields are used daily by soccer players who slop around in the mud.
Can we please finish the two years of community canvassing and actually do something here?

The play structures at Raymond Street Park are in rough condition. Worn surfaces and chipped edges

These overflowing bins were attracting rats right next to the childrens play area.

Sunday afternoon 12:30 pm it takes over 15 minutes to get through the intersection from Mass Ave to Alewife. Idling cars spewing exhaust.
    No buses. One pedestrian.
Extremely few bikes. Just a few days after another emergency vacated the red line of riders.
No wonder there is a huge amount of increased traffic on our neighborhood streets trying to avoid this nightmare.
Cambridge Traffic Department needs to reassess its existing philosophy and practices.

    Leftover weekend garbage attracting rats.
Can we please get big belly COVERED waste cans for this park?

Dogs continue to dig numerous holes in Raymond Street Park.
  • 47–99 Huron Ave Cambridge MA 02138, United States - Neighborhood 9
Every morning and evening rush hour traffic backs up along Huron with idling traffic. The lights at Sherman/Huron are not timed with the lights at Concord/Huron since it has become a major thoroughfare going east west. There's virtually little traffic along Garden including bikes.

Some of the small saplings have died again even though we watered through the drought last summer.
Can we please get more robust trees planted here with fences to keep the dogs away?
    Thanks so much!

Third week in a row that dogs have dug holes in the soccer fields. Thanks to DPW who keep filling them in, but maybe Animal Control needs to do some education on doggie etiquette too.

The dogs keep digging holes in the soccer fields in Raymond Park. Just last week DPW was here filling them all in.

Yet another backup of cars, beeping, near misses in the crosswalks and screeching tires. Ever since the Garden Street change the traffic surrounds this neighborhood park which is filled with kids and families. Raymond street is to narrow for this amount of traffic.
I keep posting such pictures in the hope that someone in the city will do something.
    Please.

Traffic backing down Raymond Street from Walden to Linean again since the one way change to Garden. Beeping, cars running stop signs etc. Raymond is too narrow for this amount of traffic while full of families and kids.
    Please address this issue.
