  • Dartmouth And Six Forks Raleigh, North Carolina - Six Forks Corridor
I posted this as a signal malfunction because no other category was appropriate.
When turning left from Six Forks onto Dartmouth there is a road/lane divider that juts out too far on Dartmouth and does not have any reflective markings on it whatsoever. This needs to be shortened or at the very least reflective marking installed.
  • 1903 New Hope Church Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Falls Of Neuse
I listed this as a signal malfunction because there is no other appropriate category for this issue.
The median at this intersection prevents a left turn onto St. Albans Dr. A U-turn is possible, but it is posted as prohibited. The furniture store parking lot has a sign posting a $50 dollar fine for cutting through the parking lot. Today I have seen commercial vehicles and an 18 wheeler cutting through the parking lot. The only legal way to get to St. Albans from New Hope Church Rd. is by going towards Wake Forest Rd. further up to the crest of the hill, where the shoulder is wider and make a U-turn. This is extremely dangerous due to the speed of cars coming from the opposite direction. A left turn onto St. Albans needs to be restored for safety sake.

  • Town And Country Rd. Raleigh, North Carolina - Raleigh Council District A
The City of Raleigh is holding a meeting on Monday evening 10/20/2014 at 7PM at the Glen Eden Pilot park to discuss the installation of speed humps on Town and Country road. Most people living on Kingsley, Misskelly, Sherborne, and Tuscanny Woods roads have intentionally not been a part of this process. This will effect over 5,500 people who use this street daily. If you are against this issue you should plan to be present.
  • St. Albans And Dartmouth Raleigh, North Carolina - Falls Of Neuse
When the light turns green for St Albans, it only stays green for 8 seconds. Green for Dartmouth is much longer and there is less traffic on Dartmouth.

Last July the multi-purpose field at Williams Park was closed for renovation of the field to include the planting of Bermuda grass. The field was to re-open in March of this year. I was told last week that the Bermuda did not take and the field would remain closed most of this year as well. I looked at the field this morning and the grass is very green which I find odd because Bermuda grass is still dormant. There are a few areas that need additional attention, but overall I think the field is in good shape.
A couple of years ago that field was closed using the excuse that there was a water drainage issue from the tennis courts. Clearly there was no issue and the field was re-opened after I inquired to the Parks and Recreation Department. Now we have this issue again with this field being closed and another phony excuse. I use the word phony because clearly Bermuda grass was not planted.
Both of the closings of this field occurred immediately after groups of Hispanic people began playing soccer on the field. About five to six years ago, the same thing happened at the Kiwanis Park. The field was closed and a very large fence was erected and then locked. The Hispanics that were playing at these fields were enjoying the weekend afternoons and from what I saw they were having a good time with their families and friends. It is obvious to me these actions were the result of someone in the neighborhood complaining about the people using the field.
The field at Williams Park belongs to the people of Raleigh and by keeping it closed your department is preventing all the citizens of Raleigh from enjoying the field. The field needs to be re-opened immediately.
