There are two or more empty (downhill) lots at the top of the ridge near where Delmont Avenue intersects with Mokelumne Avenue. This is a popular spot for people to drive up and look at the view of the city. It is also popuar for smoking weed. In the last three months or so the amount of litter at the location has increased dramatically. Someone has also dumped some trash down into the empty lot. There are nice houses surrounding this area, but nobody seems to be cleaning it or taking care of it. I request City help because it is so valluable to the people who use it for the view.

Are these public or private lots? If they are private property contact code and blight enforcement 510-238-3381. It takes time after an inspector go's out they have to give the property owner 30 days to respond not fix the problem. Make sure you get your inspectors name and phone number. If you see nothing happening after 6 weeks call back. It will take several calls. The more concerned neighbor that file complaints the better.
Hello, thanks to the original poster for calling attention to this problem. Of course it’s not the first time neighbors of these empty lots have complained. Unfortunately it’s not just littering that’s a problem with the people who gather at the site. More than once a week, on weekends and weeknights, folks will gather to see the view and blast music from their cars at maximum volume and engage in loud banter and arguments, severely disturbing the peace on this block in the middle of the night. Repeated calls to the police don’t help. There are always more high priority calls for the police to attend to.
So, with all due respect to the original poster, we hope the the city not only cleans up the site, but also addresses the underlying engineering issues that are leading to a gradual but perceptible sinking of the pavement right in front of the lots.
OP, We are not interested in cleaning up the site to make it more attractive for the nighttime visitors. We are interested in doing what we can to save the site from sinking but also to protect ourselves from the loud and inconsiderate night visits
OK, I'm the OP. I can dig it that you don't want loud gatherings there. I also see the sinking, I've watched it for 20 years.
The only reason I got involved with Clik Fix was I thought was the city of Oakland's official way to report a problem. Maybe it is. But I had no intention of getting involve with "Neighborhood Watch" type discussions. My mistake there. Good luck with your efforts to make the area livable.
Thank you for contacting the Oakland 311, for loitering, amplified music, noise nuisance, please contact OPD non emergency at (510) 777-3333. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
