I actually just saw 3 middle schoolers walking through the construction zone for this reason.

This is a bad situation. It is very dangerous to walk along the construction area in the street. And I'm sure the contractor does not want people walking in the construction zone.

Very unsafe. Had to walk on clairemont road and one of the pedestrian lights (on the church corner) is also out so pedestrians cannot tell when it is safe to cross.
