Description
The Litter is disgusting. Broken glass is common along the sidewalk. I've seen a dead squirrel left there for days. The abandoned building usually has litter. Sometimes during the year it is clean. Also graffiti. Signs posted on street light poles.

There is no LCI in Hamden...perhaps Hamden Public Works can assist you.
If the map wrong....is this new haven?
If so LCI's # is 203.946.7090...but don't call them if this is a Hamden issue!

Sorry....we don't do Hamden..... Yet!
Perhaps the New Mayor (Jackson...I think) could reach out to John DeStefano and ask for help setting up an LCI-like quality of life department to help the good folks in that diverse town. Perhaps there is a grant out there through the TARP / NSP $ from the FEDS....?
Any grant writers out there on SCF?????

Hamden does not need a new department, or a grant to handle this, The above is just a boondoggle suggestion from New Haven LCI staffers.
Sounds like a Public Works Dept. plus Zoning Enforcement Officer, problem, but, call or write the Hamden Help Line (Search for Town iof Hamden,CT)
Ms. Smith in the Mayor's office who handles the Help Desk seems very competent in getting complaints routed to the right departments, especially in comparison with the original "Help Desk" person who was a complete waste IMHO.
Copy to your area Councilman, and follow up in a week or so.

Correction, per Yahoo, Arch St. is south of the border, in New Haven
LCI guys who want to spend Hamden's money, wake up,.
Apparently the responsibility may be yours.

Sorry, correction again.
Per Hamden CofC map, the border is really a couple of blocks south of Arch which is really in Hamden, not New Haven, so Help Desk is your place to go..
Even Hamden Town Hall, if you moved the border a few hundred feet, would wind up in North Haven, as would the new Hamden Police Hdqtrs and the main Library.
Confusing?

Arch Street needs help. You cannot walk up or down arch street during the rain. You get hit by a tidal wave when cars drive by. I have to walk in a different direction or take a different bus. I don't know what the reason is. Maybe bad storm drains.
Sometimes these big dirt bombs are flying through the air when it is windy. Maybe the grass is no good or not enough.
