Description
There were signs put up on Harvard Street well over a year ago, saying no trucks. This was enforced for a while. But now, it is not being enforced and big trucks, oil tankers, etc. ( alot of them!) are back at it rumbling noisily up and down Harvard Street at all hours of the day and night. Can someone please have the situation looked at again, and have the no truck ban reinforced? Thanks for your time

Good Morning
Last Tuesday SMRTO was able to get approval of a truck reroute taking trucks off of Harvard Street. Truckers can follow the Posted Truck Route or can on their own, reroute through other communities. We followed the letter of the section and provided 1 of the criteria necessary to exclude Heavy Trucks off of Harvard Street, “ the route must lie wholly within the community making application”. This will be presented to MASSDOT. I sent a copy to Governor Baker’s office as they offered us much needed assistance in 2015.
The suggested Route is on Routes 16, 38 & 60 which are state roads which do not ban truck traffic. Craddock Bridge is under construction so this may delay the Truck Route signage but again this proposal was approved and is heading to Traffic for review.
I have attached the document which includes the exemption for businesses to include Titan Gas station (not on the original document) on the Corner Boston Ave along with McCarthy Road Service on Harvard Street and Water Air on Winchester Street.
