while it is winter, the shrubbery is less of a problem, but it will be back in full force come spring. Why can't the property owner or city fix this? I saw that the city put a sign up at Boylan and South streets that the sidewalk is impassable and people should cross there instead. That seems silly when a pair of hedge trimmers would solve the issue.
After posting this issue, the city put a sign at the south-east corner of Boylan Ave and South Street stating that people should cross South Street and east down the northern side of South St. However, there is a large root protruding through and raising the sidewalk on the north east side of Florence and South Street. I can't get a baby stroller over it but maybe it's easier with a wheelchair.
The sidewalk is even more overgrown now and imagine it will stay this way as long as there is a big hole in the ground at South St. and South Saunders. I'd hate to be the residents in the rental units on the east side of this location.....they have no choice but to walk into the street.
