Description
606 M St NE has been storing trash and recycling on the sidewalk or in the adjacent alley. They have been ticketed and neighbors have spoken to the tenants. The recycling can is currently located in the alley. By this evening the trash can will probably be there as well...

Hello Jenny,
The Daily Gripe from The Washington Post is interested in writing a post and following up on the street cleaning but wanted to check with you and see if it's still an issue first, please let us know, thanks!

As predicted, following Monday's trash pick up, the trash can has joined the recycling bin in the alley. This inhibits vehicles from being able to navigate the narrow alley. My understanding is that trash bins must be stored on the resident's private property - the alley and the sidewalk are both equally inappropriate locations.
I'm more than willing to make new reports for each instance rather than reopening this one if that approach is more conducive to resolving this permanently.
