This area has always been a problem. Even Carlton student crossing the street. They tried to fix it with a sign but what they really need is a cross walk light like infront of queen Mary on 15th at west. A friend of mine got hit crossing the street at lunch.

I totally agree. Why can't they make another crosswalk like the one right at Carlton on 6th ave ? There also needs to be one by sellers for the St. Mary's students and seniors trying to cross 2nd ave.

What is the intersection of 13th st and 2nd? It has light.

@mudder there is a crosswalk by st marys to zellers, theres 2 of them one by 15th and one on 13th.

Mudder: every intersection has, by law, a crosswalk associated. it is just that drivers disregard the law.

Claude makes a point, perhaps a couple well placed street lights there would work.

I would like to see a walkway over the street at the Carlton school. The kids have no respect when walking accross there, and I have sat there for a way to long of time waiting for more and more kids to cross. As they don't go together but separate. That is too busy of a street to have a crosswalk. Another thing is that they don't even look and just walk out on the street listening to there ipods or whatever. And I know because I'm 18 years old.

We need more than a crosswalk here- how about some lights? This is one of the busiest intersections in town- especially when Carlton is getting out, bingo is getting out, and there is a hockey game! If you are trying to turn left onto 6th Ave. from Southwood you'd better make sure you've left yourself lots of time to get to where you're going, because it's nearly impossible to get through!
Time for the city to look at this and make it safer for citizens.
