DPW - Please investigate and correct your employees on this.
Yesterday/Wednesday morning, 7:00 am, a white DPW pickup truck was parked in the westbound bike AND traffic lane. He was completely blocking the bike lane and partially blocking the vehicle lane--the semi truck that passed had to drive in the opposing traffic lane to get around! As I biked past I knocked on the side of the truck to let him know how very unsafe this was and he beeped his horn at me! This is super unsafe and illegal -- why is this okay? Please advise on this matter. Thank you.

Thanks for reporting and hopefully it is a one time incident. Early morning yesterday, we had an emergency situation that we were handling in that location. Once resolved, area was freed up for all travel.

With all due respect while that *might* have been true at some point, this was one man sitting in a pickup truck and blocking lanes of traffic. There literally was nothing else going on. And his rude response is even more concerning.

We are closing older 2014-2016 Illegal Dumping Issues found on Public Spaces (roads, tree belts, sidewalks) in order to focus on current Issues. Many of the older issues were addressed through our Streets Division but were never closed. Others involved an interdepartmental solution.
