Yes, more than one and we have discussed the problem with the Streets Dept. which ignores it and says the police should enforce. Now we all know the police are not going to sit there 24/7 to catch speeders. There are traffic calming measures which can be taken but Streets won't do it.
I can submit a ticket to the Streets Dept. so they can do a speed study but I need to know if the street East or West School House Lane. Thank you. (mb)
Thank you. It is West School House Lane. However, they have to do the study when Philadelphia University is in regular session in order to get a true picture. Of course, it is not just the students.
Our neighborhood Traffic Committee has discussed this with the Dept. It seems most reluctant to install traffic calming devices on School House. But please, have them do a study during the regular school year.
I took a real close look at this street today. There are a few speed limit signs but most are hidden by the trees. More signs and some tree cutting are needed as well as Don't Block the Box sign at the Vaux St intersection. There is a don't block sign in one direction only.
Nice that this was forwarded to Streets Dept 8 months ago. There is no change either in speeding or in the placement of speed limit signs and DO NOT BLOCK THE BOX sign at Vaux, going west on School House towards Henry from Ridge.
As for the comment about too much traffic to speed, that is only at peak hours when there is traffic diverted from the Drive or students are driving from one campus to the other because they are unable to walk a quarter of a mile
