I have been asking about this tree trimming for years and do not want this issue closed until someone has come out to look at how the wires are intertwined in the tree and the age and shape of the tree. It seems you have to know someone to get attention and since I don't know anyone I am being ignored. PLEASE trim or take down this tree before someone or some property is hurt. Thank you

I have had this issue on this site a number of times and no one ever comes out to look at this tree even though they have removed and/or trimmed trees on my street recently. I am very concerned since it is an old tree and has wires intermingled with the branches. I am a senior citizen and have lived here for many years and would really appreciate it if you would at the very least trim back some of the branches so I can rest easy. My bedroom is in the front of the house and if that tree falls toward my home I could be killed. Please help me. Thank you

Yesterday I saw contractors for the city of New Haven cutting down two trees across the street from my and yet my issue has been open for years. I have no idea what I have to do to get someone to look at this issue and to help me have this tree removed or at least trimmed. Please, help a senior citizen feel like she is being heard by someone. Check out the tree in front of my home at 136 Sound View Terrace, New Haven, 06512 it would be greatly appreciated.

I would appreciate it if you would leave this issue open until it is resolved. I have not had any satisfactory resolution nor have I seen anyone checking out this tree or trimming it or taking any action at all. I have brought it to the attention of my Alder and to Al Paolillo and still no resolution. I will not go away, so please leave this issue open and take some action.

I cannot believe you want to close this issue without investigating my concerns. No I do not agree to close this issue and want someone from the city to come out and check out the condition of the tree and at the very least trim the branches and insure the tree will not come down in a storm.

I will not make this resolved as it has gotten no attention from the city and is a hazard. I brought it to my Alders attention to no avail. I mentioned it to Al Paolillo again no action. I guess it will take a disaster to get the attention of someone in New Haven. Leave this open and PLEASE CHECK IT OUT AND TAKE ACTION.

I will be contacting the UI Company about this issue. I have spoken to my Alder to no avail and even to my Representative again to no avail. The wires are intertwined on this tree and they are bending. I don't know what it takes to get an issue looked at and hope that with a new mayor somebody will listen. Please when the Covid 19 virus problem has passed have someone come and look at this tree. It really needs to be trimmed and hopefully removed and replace with one of the beautiful trees the city is placing elsewhere on my street. Thank you

I refuse to let you close out this request as I have reported it to the UI Company as well and it is becoming a problem with the wires, the branches are bending the wires and still no one has come to check this out. I have been living in this house since 1958 and cannot believe I cannot get resolution to this request. Please leave it open and come and check it out

This issue has been open for over one year and still no one has come out to check on this tree and to see that it is bending the wires coming to my house. Many trees on my street have been removed and replaced with much more attractive and smaller trees. This is a very large old chestnut tree and I am so worried that in one of our windstorms will fall on my house. Please do not close this and please send someone to check it out before it is too late.

I am still waiting for someone from the city to come and check the branches on the tree to see if they are pushing the wires from the house as they grow. It appears to be a danger to me but since I am not an expert I will await a city appraisal. Please do not close this issue with no action as it has been outstanding for years. This is the second posting I have made on this issue. I also reported it to the UI Company on 4-16,2020.

I am determined to leave this issue open for as many days as it will take to get some action. No one has even come to check out the tree and the fact that it is bending the wires that go through the tree. I would really appreciate the city of new haven to take a few moments to come and check this out and initiate at the very least trimming of this tree. As noted above I have also reported this issue to the United Illuminating company of April 16 2020. I have no intention of closing this issue and will remain steadfast in my desire to have you check out this tree and at the very least trim it. My desire is to have it completely removed because I believe it to be a hazard. I am still waiting for years now for someone to come from the City of New Haven and check out this tree. I have no "in" with anyone which is why I am being ignored but I am a taxpayer and I believe this is important. Please send your team to cut it down and remove it.

This issue should not be closed as it has been ignored for years. I have repeatedly asked for the city to check out this very large very old chestnut tree as it is bending wires and looks like it is dangerous. If you do not cut down the tree you can at least trim the tree so that it does not create a problem in the future.

There is a truck in my street trimming other trees and yet again the largest tree on the street in front of my house is being ignored. This issue has been open because it has not been addressed. Please send someone to either trim the branches that are bending the wires that have had branches grow around them or better yet remove this old overgrown dangerous tree before it falls on my home. Again I will not close this issue until it is addressed no matter how long it takes.

Please read my comments. I have waited for years to have this tree inspected and at the minimum trimmed. It is a very large horse chestnut tree and there are wires that are caught in the branches of the tree and are being bent. Please this issue has been open for years and I will not agree to close it until the tree is trimmed or removed. I will hold the City of New Haven responsible for any damage incurred due to damage caused by this tree. I am a senior citizen my family and I have lived in this home since 1958 and this is the first time I am asking for city assistance. Please pay attention and cut down this tree. Thank you

I wrote directly to Mayor Elicker about this issue and in his response dated April 15, 2021 have been assured that it would be forwarded to the Dept of Public works and Trees for review and response. To date I have not received any response from The Dept. of Public Works and Trees and will not close this issue until the tree is inspected and trimmed. I was told the City's Urban Forrester would take a trip out to my property to inspect the tree and make recommendations on trimming and or removal and that I would be hearing from Mr. Bill Carone in the near future about the inspection. I have not yet heard from him and we are approching one month since the Mayor's response. I will continue to follow this closely and will not close this issue until it is fully resolved..

It has been over 2 years and still no resolution. I really just want to have this issue checked out and resolved. Of course at this time of year it is hard to see how the wires are being bent by the tree but it would still be very nice if someone would at least check it out and get back to me. I have lived in New Haven most of my life and so has my family. Always been a good citizen but this is ridiculous. I want this issue left open as long as it takes to be resolved.

I do not want this issue closed until the tree is checked and trimmed. If it takes 5 more years so be it. Please check the safety of the tree especially where the wires run through it. Thank you

Please do not close this issue without coming to my street and checking out the tree in question. It is a lovely tree but is growing so large that the wires that are going through the branches are being bent and I am concerned that they will be damaged. Also, the tree is quite old and I want to be sure it's root system is in tact so that it doesn't fall on my home during a storm so no I do not want this issue closed until you take some action. I have waited years and am 80 years old. So I have time to keep responding until you do something.

Wires are bending and I fear they will be damaged causing power outages etc. I would really appreciate a tree trimming to ensure that the wires are not damaged. I do not want this issue closed as I have never seen any action on it for years. I wrote to the Mayor who ensured me that action would be taken and to date it has not happened. Please send someone out the check this out and trim the tree before something bad happens.
