The city requires that there be sidewalk to sidewalk connectivity across any street before installing crosswalks. A field investigation showed that there is sidewalk on both sides of each of the streets you requested, except Clarendon Crescent east of Lord Ashley. The city will install crosswalks for the locations that are stop controlled. The locations where you are requesting marked crosswalks at an uncontrolled location (crossing Bertie and crossing Lord Ashley) are considered midblock crossings. A study will need to be done to see if these locations meet the pedestrian volume criteria. The city will conduct this study once school is back in session, the end of August/beginning of September.
