I watched a wedding reception last night at The Stock room and I can say it was a group from that event. A bunch of people were smoking and drinking outside and throwing garbage and napkins in the street. They got a little overboard.

On another note. Saying that two of the most popular bars on Fayetteville St are disgusting is a little overboard. Sure, they might not be your cup of tea but I know plenty of people that love those places and I can't imagine how much tax revenue they bring to this growing city.

It seems that there is a small group of people aimed at trying to kill success downtown and it's a shame. If those folks want a retirement community in the heart of a booming city than I feel bad for them. And I suggest they consider moving out of downtown.

Why should the city/taxpayers clean up the mess that comes from your establishment?

I have no dog in this fight but would like to point out that businesses also pay taxes. In fact, I would be willing to bet that they pay a huge amount in taxes compared to a regular citizen so that argument is quite ridiculous.

I appreciate a business owner (Zack) monitoring issues surrounding his business and salute him for trying to address this issue. I was looking at the Google Street view of the address and don't see that there's a trash can outside. Perhaps the city could install a Big Belly near this location? Maybe that would help encourage people (patrons of the bars or not) to dispose of their trash correctly and not throw it on the ground. It's certainly not the business' fault people are litter bugs, but hopefully a solution can be found to help everyone.

I think something that isn't seen in this picture is that this trash was almost certainly underneath parked cars during the night. Finding parking on Fayetteville Street during the weekend is practically impossible unless you get there early-- the street is lined with cars at closing time and they don't move until the next day. It wouldn't be feasible for anyone to clean most this trash until the cars move the following morning. Having more city trash cans could most certainly help resolve this issue. Its not the bar's staff littering as it is the consumer. This street is packed with people throughout the night not just from these locations.

Trash comes from all over. Not just the business(es) you see it at.
