Neighbors have expressed interest in having some place to sit while their kids play here. I know benches are expensive, but would the city perhaps be able to spare a few 2' or 3' tall boulders until benches could be budgeted and bought?

The Mordecai CAC parks committee and the East Mordecai Neighborhood Association would like to see the Meadowbrook Open Space improved. It is used daily by a large group of parents and students from Conn Elementary School. We have a dog waste station and trash can there, but that is all. It would be nice to have a place for people to sit, such as boulders or benches.

The natural play elements and the boulders for seating that were placed in the Mordecai Mini Park are nice. Perhaps items like this would be appropriate and affordable option for Meadowbrook.

Meadowbrook is considered greenway property, not a park. That designation has complicated our requests.

I live across the street from the park. I would love to see the city devote a little more attention to this space, seeing that it is used by close to 100 kids and parents every school day. Boulders would be great! Would also like to see a way to discourage people from parking/driving on the grass next to the road. Boulders would work here as well!

I like the idea of bolders vs benches. Lets try to keep nature and natural places as natural as possible. A boulder provides more than seating (hiding spot, climbing, a mountain top, or what ever their imagination creates...) vs a bench that just looks out of place.

We've found two benches that were left over from another park project that can be installed here. Hopefully they will be in within about a week!

Thanks so much providing some seating for Meadowbrook and resolving this request! The benches will be greatly appreciated by the people who use the space each day.

The benches are in! But please ask your kids, friends and neighbors to give them three days before sitting on them to let the foundation set properly. There is caution tape up around them right now, and our crews will remove the tape when the benches are ready for action!
