The bust blocks view of traffic and pedestrians.

The Vellucci Bust is not going to be relocated. This issue is closed.
Many things that are block the view of cyclists including trees, telephone poles, fire hydrants, mast arms and street name/parking/dedication signposts all around the city.
If people use caution while cycling through the new intersection this should not be an issue.

The statue needs to be moved. Now. Placing a large visual obstruction at such a busy intersection is a recipe for disaster. Move it immediately.

Are we all talking about the same bust? The one I see might slightly block a bicyclist’s view of the pedestrian crosswalk for about a nanosecond. As much as a tree or if a person were standing there.

A blind spot at a very busy corner is never a good idea. This is so completely avoidable yet here we have some random person from the city saying you just have to "be careful". Let's see how that goes when someone is killed due to that blind spot and their lawyers look up this ticket.

It's only a "blind spot" to bicyclist if traveling to fast. A large percent of bikes that are on our streets/sidewalks travel 20+ MPH(with electric bikes traveling even faster). Now that bicyclist share sidewalks with pedestrians in some areas, I have witnessed a few close calls with pedestrians which include small children and the elderly, that is a result of cyclist traveling at a high rate of speed through our busy squares. The City would be better off adding speed bumps/deterrents in the bike lanes where pedestrians share sidewalks with cyclists.
