Description
Independence High School's HVAC system (I think) has a very loud noise. It begins around 5:45 a.m. and continues until well after 8:00 p.m. The sound is a loud, high pitched, "running" machine sound, possibly a generator or HVAC. All of the homes in the new neighborhood, The Georgian, are affected.

Hello,
Just checking in to see if there are any updates? I did speak with Officer Schroeder and provided video recordings of the noise.
Thank You!

The video that you provided has been turned over to our Department of Public Safety, which is responsible for enforcement of the City's noise ordinance. They have to take sound measurements at the site to determine of a violation of the noise ordinance is present and will take the appropriate steps if a violation exists.
If no violation is present, the City cannot require that any measures be taken. That being said, we will make the Board of Education aware of the issue and concerns of neighboring property owners and request that they take steps to mitigate the sound.

While we understand and empathize with your situation, no actual violation of City ordinances has been identified when our personnel have monitored / investigated.
It is noted that Independence High School will permanently close this December. The existing structures on the site (pretty much everything except the ball fields and track) will be demolished in preparation for the construction of Fulton County Schools' new STEM Academy.
