My city stinks because of our city trash trucks have bad seals on the rear of the trucks. Every trash day the city gets a fresh coat of trash truck juice. The juice just leaks out the back of the trash trucks. And if it rain the night before than we really get alot of trash truck juice. The FACT of the matter is if one trash trucks route is to pickup trash from 200 to 400 house and a 1 to 2mile area, This truck just coat 2 miles of the city with juice just times that by 10. Heres another fact if a trash truck dumps trash at a unapproved site they get fined. Well trash is not only solid but its liquid to. So if the city of philadelphia is not going to makes sure the rear seals on their trucks are safe than maybe they need to be fine by the E.P.A.

You are correct; there is a city regulation prohibiting the discharge of the liquid portion of waste collected. I suggest that you bring this issue, along with the business title of the waste carrier and, if possible, the truck number, to the attention of Mr. Scott McGrath, at the Department of Streets and Sanitation - scott.mcgrath@phila.gov.
Like so many quality-of-life issues, there is a regulation in place, but it's all about enforcement. But give the City the information it needs, and there's a chance you'll get the results you want.

This is so true and a great point. I've noticed this a lot on trash day, my own trash day and others during the week. Adding to that, the street that you live on, is always dirtier after the trash truck comes down than it was before. That stain and juice take days to go away. I agree it is outrageous that while doing an important service, public health wise, it shouldn't leave juice, which bring rodents and bugs.

Trash men also make more of a mess then they pick up, they load my street with litter from spilled bags etc., and make no efforts to pick it up
