Completion of sidewalks along Haynes Bridge Road is associated with a future road widening project of Haynes Bridge Road between Mansell Road and Old Alabama.

The City of Alpharetta has resolved this issue.

NO the issue has not been resolved. I said that on the Haynes Bridge Corridor between 400 intersection and Old Alabama Road there was debris and fallen branches. Also, before you get to ALARA apartments on Haynes Bridge road there are small trees that have uprooted and are precariously leaning forward. If they fall, someone could have a cracked skull or be killed. Some of these trees could also fall into traffic. At the intersection of 400/Haynes Bridge Road on the SB side just south of the turn lane onto Haynes Bridge, the branches have over-grown across the sidewalk and into the right lane. This situation is a hazard because the branches are low and obstruct sidewalk traffic. If someone had bothered to eyeball the corridor and walk the sidewalks, the problems are somewhat obvious. If you don't have time to fix these problems, we'll be glad to cut the trees down and trim the branches, then send the city the bill. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting the City regarding this issue. Please be advised that the city limits on Haynes Bridge Rd end at the east boundary of the Thornberry subdivision. All issues east of that point should be directed to Johns Creek. Also be advised that based on your initial comments work orders have been created for City personnel and City contractors, however, those work orders are limited to issues that are located WITHIN CITY RIGHT OF WAY. Issues located on private property outside of City right of way should be directed to Code Enforcement or the individual property owner.

The area(s) in question are located in Alpharetta, not Johns Creek, which begins further South on Haynes Bridge. Unless the trees located at 400/Haynes Bridge, South of the intersection, do not belong to Johns Creek, then it must either belong to Alpharetta, or Johns Creek, or the State. The trees in question do not appear to be on private property. The small trees that are on the slope just before ALARA apartments I assume are also on public property. However, if government cannot address safety issues, then those directly impacted must protect themselves. I am concerned that no one in the local government offices has the responsibility to oversee these issues. The rest of us do not have time to determine who owns the properties where the trees may pose a hazard to both pedestrians and drivers if the trees fall or the branches break off. I won't bother the city further.

I will be glad to discuss this matter with you directly and explain the existing work orders we have in place. I also apologize for failing to mention that the trees on the slope just west of Alara are a private property issue (Target property) that we have passed on to Code Enforcement. Thank you, but today the sides of the roads where the grass was overgrown making it impossible to walk were cleared. Thank you. This closes my request for sidewalk clearing. The small tree issue is probably a larger issue, as the smaller trees on almost that entire slope are not well grounded. Also, some of the larger trees may have issues down the road as they are leaning. It will require professional assessment of the trees to determine which ones should be removed and which ones can be salvaged. But I do see the trees as a potential hazard and accident(s) waiting to happen. I walk that sidewalk every day so I know when trees are leaning precariously. Heavy rains have caused private property woes also, so Target is not alone. Code Enforcement can take it from here. My concern is to make sure we are all safe, walking or driving, on Haynes Bridge Road.
