Description
Alameda Street between Florida and Georgia is extremely busy, loud, and dangerous. We bought our house in February 2016 and so far have witnessed two car accidents and one pedestrian hit by a car in the crosswalk in front of our house. Cars drive so fast through this residential area with children and elderly people and families. Before there are fatalities involving children, can't the City of Vallejo make this four-lane road a two lane road with more traffic calming. All day long cars roar up and down Alameda ignoring that this stretch is residential. The person that was hit in the cross walk by a car was hit so hard that his shoes flew a half a block from the point of impact. He was lying in the road screaming and moaning in pain before the ambulance arrived.

This segment has been identified as a road diet candidate, we are seeking funds to get this project completed. At this time we do not have funding available to proceed, we are hoping to get grant funds in the next fiscal year.
We have requested additional enforcement by our Police Traffic Section.
