Vagrants will continue to be a problem until Wake County & all Cities and Towns come together to
start a program to forcefully relocate people without a valid address or valid proof of a round-trip airline ticket & proof of accommodation in a hotel / motel out of Wake County (with a choice of either free one way flights to California (LAX / SFO) or 155 days jail time for vagrants who are caught)

Too many times have I been approached by vagrants while in my vehicle at stop lights. Very irritating. And why does Wake county allow the unlawful sqatting to take place anyway? Yes the econmomy is bad but to allow folks to live for free along our public roadways is disgusting and brings down values of an area. I even watched some of them panhandling inside the Circle K on Hedingham blvd and her husband on the outside doing the same. They have been seen with fake medical devices as DRIVING a car. they need to be removed and ticketed if need be to make them stop.

I've actually seen panhandlers being picked up and dropped off around the Creedmoore Rd. and 540 intersections as if working in shifts. I don't know if they are homeless or not, but doubt it because they have very few personal items with them and many times are talking on cell phones. Standing on corners begging for money is not a job. This would stop if they weren't successful at it.

I like the ones with nice clothes and top dollar sneakers begging for money. they can make upwards of 300 cash tax free each day. plus food. they need to be stopped.

Wow, all I can say is wow, the level ignorance and intolerance on this post is astounding. But for the grace of God there goes you. You would have ALL made excellent fodder for the 3rd. Reich.

Ignorance is allowing the destruction of beautiful places by those who dont care. Its a sad thing to be homeless. Its another thing to litter and cause others inconvienience. This group anyway are just vagrants. They trade off who will act crippled and who will stand there in shifts. These folks are making a section of town look like the ghetto. They tent up hen leave all the trash when they leave. If it was anyone else they would get fined for littering. Noone cares if they were living there in the woods and keeping it clean and not harrassing the locals. I am not wealthy nor priveledged but have been down enough to live ina tent. Never did I beg nornleave my waste around for someone else to clean up. There are organizations willing to help and churches for support. I say if someone wants to help then fine, dont knock on my vehicle or stare me down with the lost puppy look then refuse my offering if its not cash. go look at the mess left behind in the locations stated before throwing your bible at people.

I have noticed that these people have moved on, though they have left an incredible mess at their "camp sites".

The trash is still there, in both locations(Hedingham blvd + Corporation pkwy). The only addition was that of "NO TRESSPASSING" signs between La Petit Academy and the church.

Being homeless and needing help is one thing. Begging because you are lazy is quite another. This group swaps off wheelchairs and crutches with each other and will toss aside most donations unless it is cash. Unopened food and drinks left at their corners when they leave. approaching vehicles and pedeatrians and waving their signs directly in your face is unnerving. To be approached inside and outside of a store during the same visit is just absurd. So homeless and hungry means choosy and unaccountable as well?? Just remove your trash like everyone else. Heck Im sure if they were to place full bags along the roadside on trashday nobody would leave them there. But whos reaponsibility is it to pick up after them?

This is inaccurate information. The City is not contemplating any changes to the use of SeeClickFix. We encourage all citizens to use this tool. Our record of response to SCF inquiries is quite good, with a median time to resolve of about 3 days. Some items take longer, but this tool has been valuable to the citizens as well as to our organization and we just want to make sure that's clear.

I wholeheartedly agree. My comments and such are mine. If the City of Raleigh did not like or feel my concern was appropriate they would have deleted it and not forwarded it on to the correct office.

What difference would being registered or not make? You still can't see who's writing the comment. Just because the City of Raleigh doesn't take something down, doesn't mean it's not inappropriate. After all this guest called you an imbecile and the comment is still up. So using your logic, the City of Raleigh must not think someone calling you an imbecile is inappropriate either.
