Description
I live on Lois Lane here in Vallejo. We have, what I and others believe, to be a safety and quality of life issue. This is a long
cul-de-sac that is mistaken daily as a through street from Fleming to Nebraska. The speeds at which vehicles attain trying to cut through to Nebraska is dangerous. When it is realized they can"t get through and turn around, the exit speeds are really high. We have children on Lois Lane and desperately need a speed bump to get drivers' attention. I believe this to be an easy fix that quite likely could save a life in the future. I think proactive is a lot less expensive than reactive. Thanks for your help.

The Traffic Calming program has not been funded for a number of years, we are proposing to fund it again starting the 2019/20 fiscal year. If it is approved, we will be funding speed bump projects in the future.
Until then, Traffic Engineering will look into adding an additional "Not a Through Street" sign so vehicles in both directions of Fleming can see it is not a through street.

Work order to have an additional "No Outlet" sign placed so eastbound traffic can see prior to making turn onto Lois Lane.
The traffic investigation included a review of the reported collision history for Lois Lane, and a search of the files showed no reported collisions in the last 10 years. As previously stated the City does not have a currently funded program to install traffic calming improvements, but we are proposing to reinstate the program in the proposed budget for next fiscal year.
