Is this STILL an issue? Does the City need a lawsuit before they correct it?

Red lights, stop signs, crosswalks, speed limits, there seems to be a general lack of understanding the rules of the road. For the most part, drivers are sure they won't be caught. A program of rotating enforcement zones could be of help. No one asked, just my opinion...

All of the traffic on Mass Ave in Porter Square is extremely dangerous for pedestrians. I have filed several "CLICKFIX" reports and have seen several filed by others specifically July and August 2019. Summer months have far less traffic so most of the year it is even more dangerous. There are several problems that need to be addressed. We need better light signal patterns that may slow down drivers but are necessary for the safety of pedestrians. If traffic becomes more backed up due to more traffic lights that protect pedestrians perhaps less people will drive and switch to public transportation. We have passed the tipping point in Porter Square due to the number of new developments added over the past 8 (approximately) years. It's only going to get worse once the Oaktree/St. James development is completed. The city needs to take this seriously- The many safety issues should have already been addressed with a solution that actually works towards protecting pedestrians. Central Square is heavily developed but is not nearly as dangerous.
