There are no lines painted on 38th Street as you approach Rhode Island from the south. There are apparently two lanes here (a left turn lane and a straight/right turn lane). However, it is not at all clear since there are no lane lines painted.
Lane lines have now been painted; however, no turn arrows were painted. Therefore, we now have two turn lanes, but neither lane has a direction marked.
I disagree with the previous poster -- I think the left turn lane is for going straight, and the right lane is for turns only. This would be resolved if the state actually got around to painting the arrows.
There are lanes painted on the north side of Rhode Island Ave. The original complaint, however, specifically mentions approaching Rhode Island Ave from the south. No lane lines have been painted there yet.
I believe you might get better results by requesting lane lanes directly from SHA since i believe 38th and Route 1 are both state-maintained roads. I agree that lane lines and arrows would be very useful on the south side of RIA at 38th. It is confusing there now.
