Thank you for your feedback. From multiple scenarios analyzed, the current signal operation yields shortest queue length on Kimball Bridge Road and improves traffic flow at the intersection. Three section signal heads (circular green lights) require left and right turn drivers to stop, if necessary, letting drivers on opposite direction proceed through the intersection. We will keep monitoring traffic movements and make necessary changes accordingly.

Sorry, you've missed my point entirely. You have turned off the left turn signal light. So, while the interval is still active and programmed into your system...the light is completely out and drivers are just sitting there, a bit confused. Go visit the intersection and you'll understand the problem.

Thank you for your comments. The intersection was visited and re-evaluated yesterday. Currently, two lanes on Kimball Bridge Rd are open to traffic with one of them being partially closed and interrupted with traffic cones before approaching the intersection, creating a bottleneck/throat (see the attached picture). Due to high traffic volume (left turns from Kimball Bridge Rd onto North Point Pkwy, thru traffic on Kimball Bridge Rd, and right turns from Kimball Bridge Rd to North Point Pkwy) the existing open lanes on Kimball Bridge Rd cannot be exclusively used by left turn and thru/right turn traffic. In other words, some of the thru/right turn traffic have to get on far left lane (inside lane) until getting closer to the intersection. More importantly, if there are approximately eight vehicles on far left lane (inside lane) waiting to turn left onto North Point Pkwy, the bottleneck (as described above) would be entirely closed blocking the throat. In other words, thru and right turn traffic would not be able to get even close to the intersection hereby building excessive queue length and traffic back up on Kimball Bridge Rd.
