The Public Works Department has responded. We cannot place a bus stop in the 100 block of Hargett Street due to on street parking and bus departure activity from Moore Square. There is an existing bus stop on Hargett at Blount Street with pedestrian crosswalks and signals that can be utilized to cross the street and enter Moore Square safely.
The # 13 Chavis Heights provides service every 30 minutes all day. It arrives at Moore Square at :25 and :55 until the hour. The # 1 Capital provides service from Moore Square every 15 minutes in the peak hours departing at :00, :15, :30 & :45. Customers on the # 13 have a 5 minute wait to catch the # 1 Capital bus during the peak hours of service. In the off peak, the Capital departs at :15 and :45. Customers on the # 13 would have a 20 minute wait for the # 1 Capital.
We currently have plans to increase service on the # 1 Capital to 15 minutes all day. This service is scheduled to start within the next 60-90 days. When this occurs, there would never be more than a 5 minute wait for customers on the # 13 route to catch the # 1 Capital from Moore Square.
