Description
Wow a parking/traffic nightmare in front of the Hotel here. It’s an accident waiting to happen at the busy intersection of Milton and Highway nine.

The City is very much aware of and engaged in resolving the issue. The situation is currently in violation of one of the conditions of zoning that was established by City Council:
Condition 25: "Condition 25: Valet drop-off area along Milton Avenue shall be designed in concept as depicted on Exhibit A. Valet operation shall not overflow onto Milton Avenue. If valet operation is deemed deficient by the City Transportation Planner, Hotel Operator shall work with staff to develop a revised service plan."
The hotel has been given until 12:00 PM today (December 17, 2021) to provide their plan for restructuring their valet operation so as to fully comply with the condition. Upon receipt, the plan will be reviewed by appropriate members of our staff and adjusted if they deem it necessary to ensure that the negative impact on Milton Avenue is corrected.
If the hotel fails to comply, either by not submitting a plan by today's deadline or by failing to consistently operate in accordance with the plan ultimately approved by the City, appropriate enforcement actions that are consistent with our codes and ordinances will be taken.

The hotel valet operation has been reconfigured. This, in combination with other measures, has resolved the significant backups that were occurring on Milton Avenue as a result of activity related to the hotel.
The final measures were enacted in late February, and the City has monitored activity since to confirm their positive impact.
