Too many of Vallejo's main streets seem to be designed to speed motor traffic through the city, like a freeway. Pedestrian safety, especially the elderly and handicapped needs the highest priority. Assigning as much consideration to local drivers on cross streets, and to local bicyclists, as we give to commuters on their way to Napa is almost as important. And just having a traffic pattern that encouraged drivers to stop, shop, and look around, rather than just whiz by, might also be good for our town.
