It is shameful that people are constantly reporting/complaining that graffiti is appearing everywhere in West Oakland over the last few years. It is being scribbled all over your property or neighborhood, this does not look good. I feel that what we are commenting on is being ignored. There are several/many neighborhoods in Oakland where graffiti is not everywhere ruining the look of a neighborhood and bring down property values. Who told the city of Oakland that everyone in West Oakland likes graffiti scribbled everywhere? We would like to live in a decent looking area also. This is not art, it destroying and defacing someone's property. A so called artist does not deface/ ruin the look of property.

Current city policy states that graffiti removal is the responsibility of the property owner. I assume the reason their is more graffiti in West Oakland is because there are more absentee landlords who do nothing about the graffiti on their property.
