A portion of Timberline is starting to dip just above Tamarack Way. According to the County Water Authority, there is a large leak in the supply line to 1150 Timberline that the homeowners have not repaired. The leak is following the lines under the road then coming up in front of someone else's driveway. Until the road collapses and is impassible they can't do anything to repair the line. The county has been there at least 4 times so the homeowner is very aware of it but hasn't made repairs. Since it's past the meter the county can't fix it.

This is a safety issue for the neighborhood. If the road collapses, people can be hurt and the expense will be great. Our school buses go down that street. If the Water Authority cannot prevent it by shutting off the water, then I am asking Alpharetta Public Safety to step in and help. We cannot wait for the road to collapse before this long term leak is fixed.

We have been concerned after noticing the leak for several weeks. Attempts were made to notify the homeowners but unaware of the source. Agree with comments regarding the impact it will have to the safety of all residents. The school bus stop is at this intersection. In addition to buckling there are additional safety concerns as they cross the street. If not address prior to winter there will also be concern of slippage.

The corner down the road has a bus stop with a bus that goes by every morning full of kids to pick up more. The children walk down that road to catch the bus everyday which could be unsafe if the situation continues. This can become a safety issue for our neighborhood.

This needs to be fixed ASAP before it becomes a bigger and unsafe issue. I’m very concerned for our neighbors close to this damage. Water is a silent and powerful force and could create a huge damage if it’s left flowing there.

This leak needs to be fixed soon. This road is heavy traffic zone with school bus and other large vehicles passing through. This is a safety issue. Needs to be addressed soon before it becomes unsafe.

Thank you for contacting the city about this issue. The city does not manage the domestic water service inside city limits. Waters service is handled completely by Fulton County. Representatives from the city have been to the area and have spoken with the property owner with the leak. The property owner informed the city that they will be contacting a plumber to get the leak fixed. The city will conduct tests on the roadway to evaluate any impacts the leak may have caused and will determine if any repairs are needed.

Apparently a plumber went to the home in question on Friday to repair the leak. It looks as if they have done some work, however it is now Wednesday and water is still flowing From one side of the street to the other as it was before. Can you please confirm that the homeowners have had the repair completed? If that is the case, why do we still have an issue with water crossing the street?

I have been working with a supervisor for Fulton County Water this week on the issue. His goal was to do an overnight test to see if they have any leaks on the main line but were not able to do so. I just had a conversation with him and he informed me that he is scheduled to come out and run some test early next week.
