Description
Resident called in to request that her sidewalks and driveway be re-evaluated and addressed this year for replacement. There are large holes and huge moveable chunks of concrete, that are hazardous to pedestrians and vehicles. Please evaluate and replace accordingly.

Good morning Ms. Roman,
We do not have a good time frame for repairs. Due to the pandemic response, all spring spending has been frozen.
We are starting the budget process to try to obtain more funds for more claims list repairs. The current funds are mostly allocated to other sites since the fall.
Once funding is obtained, we will continue to issue repairs on the approximately $300,000 worth of claims work before we resume the normal sidewalk repair program.
Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact us in the Engineering Department.

Checking in on this request. Is there a timeframe for my very dilapitated and damaged driveway apron to be finally fixed? I reported this to you in 2017. You've done other aprons in my neighborhood recently, like at the corner of Thornton St. We are almost not able to use half of the driveway because the gigantic chunk of concrete that is uneven and wobbly is a serious problem.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Thank you for caring enough to follow up.
We have had some money and were able to begin some more repairs to our Claims List, which you are on. This was LoCIP money from the State of Connecticut. That is nearly gone for other worse sites.
We are under a hard spending freeze by the order of the Mayor and the desire of the Legislative Council. This is the hardline difference from the previous request. We cannot do more work until that changes, regardless the location.
